Events for the 2019-2020 season

**POSTPONED West Hill Shop Skin Ski Demo**

WHEN: Saturday February 29th  10:00-2:00
DESCRIPTION:  On Saturday, February 29th from 10AM until 2PM, West Hill Shop will be at the BOC Ski Hut offering free demos of their fleet of skin skis. There has been a lot of buzz and opinions about the utility and performance of skin skis. The folks at West Hill believe that the skin ski is just another tool for the job. When groomed tracks are icy, very warm, hard packed, or glazed, skin skis are a great choice for the job, and in genera perform with better glide when compared to a plastic base mechanical grip zone.  West Hill Shop will have three options to try, including the Fischer Superlite Twin Skin, the Salomon RC-10 e-Skin and the Madshus Race Speed Inteligrip.  Please note that all the demo skis are mounted with NNN-compatible bindings.  If you don’t have NNN-soled boots, don’t worry as West Hill Shop will have combi boots to use for the demo as well.

After your ski demo, stop by the Bella Notte Restaurant for a beer and lunch/dinner.  Bella Notte will close for a two week break starting on March 1st.

**Thursday Night BOC Winter Games Series**

WHEN:  Thursday Nights, Starting December 26th    Time: 5:30PM

The BOC’s beautiful new hut is in place and functioning, overlooking our 150 meter stadium, creating the perfect venue to start a new BOC tradition of fun, all-comer ski games and informal races – the BOC XC Winter Games Series.   With the good snow we have had to start the season, and many people gathered for the holidays, now is the time to start.
Starting this Thursday, December 26, from 5:30-6:30, and continuing every Thursday as long as snow conditions permit, all comers can come join in any or all of these skiing events.  Being a spectator and staying warm around an outside fire are also part of the program.
Inspired by cross-country skiing, speedskating and velodrome events, the BOC Winter Games are for all – young, old, fast, slow, tired, new to cross-country skiing, or experienced racer.   Participants can use classic or skating skis, or snowshoes.  Scores and times will not be kept; it is all for the fun of participation, to meet other skiers, and to cheer each other on in an activity we all enjoy.
Possible events include:  Australian Pursuit; 3-person team relays with different lap intervals; 100m sprint; and a mass-start finale. Descriptions of these events are posted at the hut. Suggestions for other events or modifications are welcome.
Everybody – BOC members, guests, cross-country team members, visitors young and old are welcome to join.
Bring:
