Friday, February 14, 2025; 7:30 pm gathering time at the BOC Ski Hut

VALENTINE’S MOONRISE SKI AND SNOWSHOE

Bring your partner, friend, or fly solo and come enjoy a true nordic experience. On Friday evening February 14th, we will depart the BOC Ski Hut for a group tour of our classic trails. We will work our way up to Bridger’s Pond in time for the moonrise. There will be at least three groups with a BOC volunteer guide. We’ll have the “White Hot” group for those who really want to get the blood pumping, the “Slow Burn” group taking their time in life and love, and there will be “Snowshoe Hares” which might imply speed, but don’t be fooled. Hot drinks upon return to the hut between 9 and 9:30.

While no one will be left behind, this event will be for experienced (intermediate) skiers and snowshoers. Participants need to have their own snowshoes or ski gear, warm clothing, and a head lamp. To spice things up a bit let’s get creative with wearable lighting! No cost to BOC members, daily trail fee for non-members (Ski: $15; Snowshoe: $10–Cash or VENMO @bocxc) Two for one: your partner or friend skis or snowshoes for free!

CLOTHESPIN SCAVENGER HUNT

Who: Kids up to age 13

Where: Brattleboro Outing Club Ski & Snowshoe Hut

Snowshoe or hike (depending on conditions) on the BOC Snowshoe Truuske’s (Orange and Blue) Trail. Collect clothespins of differen colors that are hung along the trail. Earn a hot chocolate and a (temporary) tattoo back at the BOC Ski & Snowshoe Hut!

2-FOR-1 SKIING AND SNOWSHOEING AT THE BRATTLEBORO OUTING CLUB

The Brattleboro Outing Club invites the community to discover the fun of cross-country and snowshoeing on the Club’s beautiful trails.

Simply register and pay your trail fee at the kiosk by the BOC Ski Hut. With each paid admission, a companion (of equal or lower admission price) may ski or snowshoe for free.

Rentals are not included. Skis and snowshoe rentals will be available for a fee.

Brattleboro residents may also check out snowshoes for free from Brooks Memorial Library.

Trail fees are as follows:

Adults: $15

Youth 6-25: $10

Children 5 & Under: Free
